29 pounds down

Well we are 7 weeks into our 16 week Biggest Loser Contest and I am down 29 pounds! My goal was 40 and so I think I will make that and more! When I had made that goal I had just kind of thrown out a number thinking well that's 10 a month! Wasn't for sure if I would make it or not but with confidence I'm sure I will and then some! I think what helped this week was all the painting and moving furniture that we have been doing! So I may have to get into an exercise groove soon! I really am looking forward to this new healthier chapter of my life! I have struggled for ten years with finding a healthy consistent diet with results and I just feel so confident in this being a permanent change with lasting results!

25 pounds down 25 more to go

Time for a short update...

I weighed in on Tuesday this week and I have officially lost 25.5 pounds! Can't wait for the next 25 to come off! Still haven't bought any new clothes! But baggy is in right? Just kidding, haha ; )

In other news we are painting and redecorating and getting new furniture with our tax check! So I will be very busy priming, painting, and moving everything in three rooms of our house over the next week! Will post before and after pics soon!

Being Blessed

As I talked a little in my last post about being blessed when I have the opportunity to listen to Midday Connection, I thought I would share a little more about what was on today!

This is from the webpage:
When it comes to Foolproofing Your Life, there is more than meets the eye. Sure, you have to assess the situation with the fool in your life, but you also have to take a look at yourself. Jan Silvious joins us as we continue our study from the book of Proverbs with a focus on fools. Jan will help us “wise up” and put away childish things as well as look at new strategies for old battles.

The broadcast today was about fools in our life and what to do about them and about ourselves when we have to deal with a fool! I thought the discussion today was very realistic and interesting! Not always that you hear a christian radio station talk about fools! (It reminded me of a few people I know and have to deal with) It focused alot on the advice from the book of Proverbs!

It also gave a quote from Mark Twain that says, "I can live for two months on a good compliment."

I believe that by tommorow they should have the complete broadcast typed up on the website! I always like to go back through and re-read what they have talked about when I find a topic interesting! I hope that someone else may find this info. useful or be able to also be blessed by this program!

Exercise Time

I got on the treadmill today for 20 minutes! I had the luxury of borrowing my daughter's ipod so that I could listen to the radio while walking. (I need to get one of these!) I absolutely love and am always blessed when I have the opportunity to listen to 97.9! The Midday Connection program was on and it was so nice to be able to listen and not think about what I was doing, exercising.

I think the thing I love most about walking is stretching afterwards! I have foot problems and so I have to be careful about this form of exercising. I love to sit on the floor and stretch out my legs and then lay down and stretch out my back! I even opted to see how many crunches I could do today! I started with a set of 15, took a little break and then did 15 more. Wow it feels really good to accomplish a little bit!

My goal is to do this every other day for the next two weeks and then add something else. Perhaps weights or some kind of workout video.

In my food/exercise journal I put down that I walked for 20 minutes, burned 177.1 calories, distance = .898, and did 30 crunches! This will help keep me accountable and help me track my progress and see when I need to bump things up to the next level.

Consistency is my worst enemy! But I have to jumpstart my weight loss again! I haven't met my goal yet and I am not going to stop doing all that I can until I am there!

So it's Week 5

and guess what? I didn't lose any this week! I maintained! So I guess it may be time to add exercise to the whole diet and exercise plan! I cheated a bit on Superbowl Sunday! I had a few pieces of thin crust Pizza King Pizza and some wings! So that'll teach me to cheat! So that's my news for now!

You might be a knitter...

if your husband wants to hand you the remote and you say, "I can't change the channel until I finish knitting this row" and then when he tosses it to you and it land on the floor you discover that you can turn the channels with your foot! Awesome!!!

I'm only a beginner knitter! But i just couldn't put my knitting down last night! I finally called it quits around 1 am! But I've found I love being able to watch tv but still be doing something! I also liked that when it got a little difficult I would warm up and kinda sweat a little, I guess out of aggravation! I thought this has gotta be burning some calories! My project that I am so very close to finishing is an eyelet edge dish cloth! Next I would love to do some coasters with this same technique and then I would love to move onto bookmarks and coffee cozies! And then maybe a big project after that!

Happy knitting!

Losing 20 pounds

20 reasons I've lost 20 pounds:
1)For my kids
2)For my husband
3)For myself
4)To feel better
5)To look better
6)To have more energy
7)To be healthier
8)To have a chance at winning the Biggest Loser at work and have money to go shopping
9)To win this battle I've been losing for the last 10 years
10)To help & inspire others
11)So that my clothes will feel more comfortable
12)So that my feet won't hurt so bad
13)Because I am not going to spend my life being an overeater
14)Because I am worth it
15)Because God has better plans for me than leaving me addicted to food
16)Because it's saving me money
17)Because I can overcome this
18)Because there's no time like now
19)Because I know I can ;)
20)and so that I didn't have to stop wearing my wedding rings because they were getting so tight and now they are loose!
